The hotel sits above an existing retail unit on a tight and complicated site, with a contemporary reinterpretation of the retained façade's vertical bays in light and dark grey rainscreen. Pedestrian access is from The Battis, the pedestrianised street linking the hotel and the station. Front of house is at first floor, with an open-plan reception and lounge bar oriented to the front corner over South Street.
