We are appointed as MEP consultant by developers, operators and design teams, and as designer to MEP contractors on design-and-build packages.
Alongside the core disciplines we cover the specialist and compliance work that sits around them, so that one team carries a project from feasibility to handover.
MEP design
Mechanical, electrical and public health design from the first strategy to handover: heating, cooling and ventilation, power and lighting, water and drainage, fire detection and life safety, lifts and vertical transportation, and IT, audio-visual and security where the project needs them.
Coordinated design for contractors
Coordinated drawings and Revit models for MEP contractors on design-and-build packages, with clash detection against structure and architecture, builder's work information, technical submittal reviews and responses to site queries.
BIM and construction coordination
Federated MEP models to the project BIM execution plan, construction-stage model maintenance and COBie asset information structured to the client's requirements for handover.
Live-building extensions and plant migration
Survey, modelling and step-by-step sequencing of plant relocations so that hotels, offices and other occupied buildings can be extended or re-serviced without closing. Each move is drawn, programmed and agreed with the operator in advance.
Feasibility and early-stage strategy
Utility capacity checks, surveys of existing services, plant and riser space allowances and energy strategy options to inform a brief, a purchase or a planning application.
Energy, sustainability and overheating
Energy statements, Part L compliance, SAP and SBEM calculations, dynamic thermal modelling and overheating assessments, BREEAM evidence at design and post-construction stages, and EPCs for domestic and non-domestic buildings.
Ventilation strategy
Natural, mechanical and mixed-mode ventilation strategies, kitchen extract, smoke control interfaces and heat recovery, resolved with the architecture early enough to protect floor-to-ceiling heights and façades.
Technical assurance and peer review
Independent review of MEP designs prepared by others: checking compliance, coordination, buildability and value before tender or construction, and design verification for contractors.
Building Safety Act gateway submissions
Preparation of the MEP content of Building Safety Regulator gateway submissions for higher-risk buildings, with the fire and life-safety systems information the regulator expects.
Due diligence and condition surveys
Condition surveys and MEP descriptions of existing buildings for acquisitions, sale data rooms and refurbishment planning, with remaining-life assessments and budget costs.
Commissioning and performance monitoring
Commissioning schedules and witnessing, seasonal commissioning checks and monitoring of energy and environmental performance in the first years of operation.
